Fun missions, a little difficult in spots, with missions 4, 8, and 10 being especially hard to stay alive in. Definite recommend to anyone that enjoys mission-based driving games.

Analogous to filming a bombastic action movie sequence without learning the script, SpyHunter is fairly action packed and explosive, but a bit clunky and poorly telegraphed. Play as a spy car as you drive through 14 levels, shooting other cars and objects with mounted machine guns and rockets. Each level introduces some new elements to keep things fresh, but it can feel like a bit of a handful as you try to juggle switching weapons, locking on to enemies, and navigating rather precarious levels flooded with enemy vehicles. It's fine on paper but in practise there's a lot of trial and error, and having to replay the levels (which are only 3 minutes long most of the time) multiple times to properly execute everything in the way the game expects. Various objectives are very easy to miss until you've had a few takes at things and know where you ideally need to position yourself. The graphics are pretty fair for the time period though, and I can get down to the soundtrack, including an original nu metal piece by the band Saliva. It's fairly short though, at about 3 hours long if you've played games like this before, but it's certainly not a boring one. Just a bit clunky until you manage to ace a performance.

You could run over chickens or something.

Something I think most people would miss playing Spy Hunter today is how impressive the vehicle transformations and some of the enviromental interactions must have been on release.
It's a shame that the game starts grinding your balls and making you do almost every goal in every level halfway through though, especially since you need to do a perfect run of a level for the goals you missed the first time around to count.

Actually very cool vehicle concept, with fun missions and a very good main ost theme

This game is straightforward, simple, and most importantly, fun! I recommend this if you want something not too complicated yet fun and challenging.
