Song KangHo as King Viserys Targaryen

Viserys Targaryen was the fifth son of the Old King Jaehaerys and was eventually chosen by the lords of the Seven Kingdoms to rule over his cousin, Rhaenys Targaryen. He was a level-headed ruler who managed to maintain a peaceful reign despite his various challenges. Viserys married Alicent Hightower, the best friend of his daughter Princess Rhaenyra, after his wife's death. The couple had several children, including Aegon Targaryen, his first son. Kim HyeSoo as Princess Rhaenys Targaryen

Before the Iron Throne was established, Rhaenys was a potential candidate for the throne. However, the lords of Winterfell decided to give Viserys the Iron Throne instead. Rhaenys is now wed to the powerful Lord Corlys, and she is the mother of two children, Laenor and Laena. Rhaenys is now known as "the queen who never was".

We think the great actress Kim HyeSoo would play Princess Rhaenys well as she is used to embodying royalty members in a lot of her works.

 

Kim NamGil as Master Corlys Velaryon

The powerful Lord Corlys is the leader of a well-established family with ancient roots. He is married to Rhaenys, who was passed over to Viserys after she was chosen as his successor. He was known as the Sea Snake when he was younger, and he is now the wealthiest man in the Seven Kingdoms. His wealth includes the largest naval force in the world. He has a powerful position at the court. He is a shrewd man who often disagrees with the king, but he is loyal to the crown.

We think the actor Kim NamGil would be perfect for this role, as he's a traveler and crossed Siberia by boat, just like Corlys who possesses the largest naval force!

 

Seo YeaJi as Laena Velaryon

Laena Velaryon was the wife of Prince Daemon Targaryen, mother to Baela and Rhaena, and a valiant dragon rider. She was the daughter of Lord Corlys Velaryon and Princess Rhaenys Targaryen. She died during her third pregnancy, before bringing the baby to term. At court, Laena was asked to be King Viserys' second wife. She was then passed over for Alicent Hightower due to her young age. Laena was supposed to strengthen the alliance between the Targaryen and Velaryon families.

We think Seo YeaJi would be a great candidate for Laena's role as she is a fierce actress, and she's very versatile!

 

Yoo JaeMyung as Otto Hightower

Ser Otto was a knight before becoming the King's main counselor ("the hand"). He is the father of Alicent, who is now queen. Otto was removed from the Small Council due to his lack of loyalty to the king. He was reinstated after the new "hand" passed away. One of the most powerful positions in the Seven Kingdoms is the Hand of the King. This individual is the king's closest adviser and is the highest-ranking member of the small council. They are also responsible for carrying out the king's plans. 

We think that Yoo JaeMyung has everything he needs to play this character, as a wise but calculated Hand of the King.

 

ASTRO's Cha EunWoo as Criston Cole

Ser Criston Cole was a skilled knight who is the son of a Lord's steward. He is known for his exceptional fighting skills and is capable of defeating even Prince Daemon. Princess Rhaenyra selected him to be a part of the Kingsguard when she was young. However, his allegiance eventually changes and he becomes the queen's sworn protector after he spent a night with the Princess.

We think Cha EunWoo is the perfect match to become a Princess or a Queen's bodyguard. Who wouldn't fall for this mysterious knight?

 

Stray Kids' Felix as Laenor Velaryon (young)

Ser Laenor is the son of Lord Corlys Velaryon and Rhaenys Targaryen. When he was a boy, Laenor was a regular at court and was present during the king's tournaments. However, in his teens, he was less interested in marriage and more fascinated by young men. After he joined the War for the Stepstones and became the king consort of his cousin Princess Rhaenyra, they had a strong bond between their homes.

We think Felix would be a great flower boy to embody the sweet Laenor! Laenor is really kind to Princess Rhaenyra, and so is Felix toward his group's members!

 

Lee SangYi as Laenor Velaryon (adult)

He is the king consort and husband of Princess Rhaenyra. Together, they have three sons: Joffrey, Lucerys, and Jacaerys. Laenor wanted to leave the Seven Kingdoms to protect his children from the questions of their legitimacy, and he eventually agreed to do so. This allowed Rhaenyra to get married again, strengthening her claim to the Iron throne.

We think Lee SangYi would be a good choice as he's playful and handsome like Laenor! More than that, he's also very friendly, and can be cute or serious when needed.

 

Han SoHee as young Queen Alicent Hightower (young)

Alicent was a childhood friend of Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen. Through her father, Ser Otto, she developed a strong bond with King Viserys. Their marriage eventually happened.

We think the beautiful Han SoHee can portray the best the delicate and fragile Alicent. Han SoHee can be fierce as well, knowing that Alicent will grow into a powerful Queen.

 

Cho YiHyun as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen (young)

Rhaenyra was the first child of Queen Aemma Arryn and King Viserys I. At a young age, her father named her the heir to the Iron throne. She is known as an independent and strong-willed woman. She had been close to Alicent, who was her friend until she was chosen as his second wife. Before she got married to Laenor, she had a difficult relationship with Criston Cole, a knight, and Daemon, her uncle.

We think the young actress Cho YiHyun can portray Princess Rhaenyra with her innocent look, but also her cheerfulness and sassiness! Who could be better?

Queen Alicent is the wife of King Viserys I, and she has a strong relationship with her family and house. Her feud with Princess Rhaenyra has caused their rift to spill over into their children, Aegon, Helaena, and Aemond Targaryen.

Daemon Targaryen, the younger brother of King Visery's I Targaryen, is an unpredictable and fierce warrior. He is known for his ability to ruff feathers, and his skills in sword fighting played a pivital role in the War for the Stepstone. Following the death of his first wife Rhea Royce, he married Laena Velaryon, and they had two daughters, Baela and Rhaena. Daemon and his niece, Princess Rhaenyra, married to strengthen their house and help her claim the Iron Throne. They have two children, Viserys and Aegon.

Who do you think between Song SeungHeon,  Lee SooHyuk,  Lee DongWook and Lee JaeWook should play Prince Daemon?

 

Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen (adult)

From her marriage to Ser Laenor, Princess Rhaenyra had three sons: Joffrey, Lucerys, and Jacaerys. Although there were rumors that Laenor wasn't their biological father, she maintained that he was despite her closeness with another knight. Due to these rumors, Rhaenyra's planned ascension to the Iron Throne was in doubt, as well as her son's status as her heir. To put an end to these speculations, she married Prince Daemon. Together with her uncle, they have two children: Viserys and Aegon.

"Descendants of the Sun" is at the top of the list with a whopping 38.8% rating. Starring Song JoongKi, Song HyeKyo, Kim JiWon, and JinGoo, the drama gained a huge following for its cheesy moments that made the story and its unique background all the more appealing. Fans were especially impressed with the whole cast's acting prowess, even the supporting roles - as they had you invested in every single character's story.

 

2. " When the Camellia Blooms" - 23.8%

"When the Camellia Blooms" is well-known as one of those feel-good dramas that you could watch a thousand times and never get tired of. With its healing nature, stunning background, and undeniable chemistry between the characters, starring Kang HaNeul, Kong HyoJin, Kim JiSeok, and more, the drama secured a sky-high rating of 23.8%.

 

3. "Love in the Moonlight" - 23.3%

"Love in the Moonlight" gave the best of both worlds by serving heart-fluttering moments and also being a riveting historical drama. In fact, this is yet another KBS drama that is on the starter pack list for all K-Drama lovers to watch when they first grow an interest in dramas. Starring Kim YouJung, Park BoGum, JinYoung, Kwak DongYeon, and Chae SooBin, the drama secured a top rating of 23.3%.

 

4. "Liver or Die" - 22.7%

Many fans couldn't get enough of the wholesome nature of this drama. Many praised the character development and their respective personalities that were acted out in a genuine manner, too. Starring Yoon JoonSang, Oh JiHo, Jeon HyeBin, Lee SiYoung, Cha SeoWon, and more, the drama earned a rating of 22.7%.

5. "Good Manager" - 18.4%

"Good Manager" (also known as "Manager Kim") is described as one of those must-watch K-Dramas for everyone. Between the amazing story, the fresh twist on its subject matter, the perfect casting, and the perfect cast chemistry, this drama lacks in no area. Starring NamKoong Min, Nam SangMi, 2PM's Lee JunHo, and Jung HyeSung, the drama secured a rating of 18.4%.

 

6. "The Producers" - 17.7%

"Producers" was one of the first dramas of its kind, being completely unique. Naturally, it grew a huge appeal thanks to its star-studded lineup. However, incredible casting aside, the directing and camera work gave a fresh perspective to the show, grabbing attention with its interesting mockumentary rom-com mash-up. Starring Cha TaeHyun, Kong HyoJin, Kim SooHyun, and IU, "Producers" earned a 17.7% rating.

 

7. "My Lawyer, Mr. Jo" - 17.3%

"My Lawyer, Mr Jo" starring Park ShinYang and Kang SoRa, achieved a 17.3% rating. Not only was this drama insightful in the way it offered satirical social commentary, but it also captured the hearts of viewers with its high entertainment value. Fans were especially taken by the cast of stand-out actors.

 

8. "Doctor Prisoner" - 15.8%

"Doctor Prisoner" delivers everything that a classic revenge drama should. It packs a satisfying punch which is why it's no surprise that the drama earned such a huge following. Starring NamKoong Min, Kwon NaRa, Kim ByungChul, and Choi WonYoung, "Doctor Prisoner" earned ratings of 15.8%.

 

9. "Witch's Court" - 14.3%

"Witch's Court" starring Jung RyeoWon and Yoon HyunMin earned ratings of 14.3%. The drama gained a lot of praise for having a strong heroine protagonist and combining that with the quickfire world of law, which earned it a lot of anticipation among K-Drama fans. It's safe to say that this anticipation paid off and more than delivered, judging by the high ratings.

 

10. " Royal Secret Agent" - 14.0%

"Royal Secret Agent" secured a 14% rating. Starring INFINITE's L (Kim MyungSoo), Kwon NaRa, and  Lee YiKyung, many hailed the drama as one of the best historical K-Dramas out there. The drama turned its viewers into detectives who were just as invested in cracking the story as the characters and made for an immersive experience.

11. "Fight for My Way" - 13.8%

Starring Park SeoJun, Kim JiWon, Ahn JaeHong, and Song HaYoon, the drama earned ratings of 13.8%. This drama is one of the most beloved dramas on the lists of avid K-Drama lovers. It lacks none of the K-Drama tropes that make the genre as great as it does. With heart-fluttering moments tucked in between hilarious scenes, there's no wonder this drama was (and still is) so popular.

 

12. "Unkind Ladies" - 13.7%

Starring Kim HyeJa, Chae ShiRa, Do JiWon, and Lee HaNa, this drama secured 13.7%. This drama earned a lot of attention for its portrayal of real human emotions, adding to its relatability. The theme surrounding kindness made for an emotional rollercoaster and riveting watch, too.

 

13. "Black Knight" - 13.2%

"Black Knight" starring Kim RaeWon, Shin SaeKyeong, Seo JiHye, and Jang MiHee, earned ratings of 13.2%. "Black Knight" is yet another fan-favorite K-Drama thanks to its heartwarming moments and the cheesy moments that will make you smile and laugh throughout.

 

14. "Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth" - 13.1%

Starring Park SeoJun, Go ARa, Park HyungSik, Seo YeaJi, SHINee's MinHo, Do JiHan, BTS' V, and more, the drama earned ratings of 13.1%. Known as 'The Drama That Got Me Into K-Dramas' for many K-Drama fans, "Hwarang" is a classic with its star-studded cast, feel-good narrative, and iconic moments that will have you hitting the rewind button.

 

15. "Miracle That We Met" - 13.1%

"Miracle That We Met" starring Ra MiRan, Kim MyungMin, and Kim HyunJoo, also earned ratings of 13.1%. "Miracle That We Met" boasted an unpredictable story thanks to its mix of fantasy elements in a modern story. Additionally, the cast made quite an impression as they delivered a strong message with their impactful acting.

 

16. "Uncontrollably Fond" - 12.9%

Starring Kim WooBin, Suzy, Im JooHwan, and Im JuEun, the drama earned ratings of 12.9%. This is the drama that had everyone grabbing a box of Kleenex with all of its heart-wrenching moments that will have you hugging your cushion as you watch. The tragic romance and melodramatic side stories will have you in your feels - which is part of why it's such a great immersive drama.

 

17. "Woman of 9.9 Billion" - 11.6%

This is yet another drama that made a bold impression on K-Drama lovers. Many found the narrative thrilling and filled with suspense that had you on the edge of your seat waiting to see how it ended. Starring Cho YeoJeong and Kim KangWoo, the drama achieved a rating of 11.6%.

18. "Queen of Mystery" - 11.6%

The drama secured ratings of 11.6% starring Kwon SangWoo and Choi KangHee. The chemistry in this drama was undeniable and one of the many elements that worked well for this drama. As a result, many fans couldn't get enough of the drama's flavorful storytelling and mix of genres, earning it a large following.

 

19. " Suits" - 10.7%

Starring Park HyungSik, Jang DongGun, Jin HeeKyung, Chae JungAn, Ko SungHee, and Choi GwiHwa, the drama earned ratings of 10.7%. Adapted from the American version of the show, many K-Drama fans and fans of the original American series had a lot of praise to give to this production. Not only were fans impressed with the actors' portrayals and interpretations of the original characters, but they also created a high-quality production that has high re-watch value.

 

20. "Sweet Stranger and Me" - 10.6%

Starring Park SooAe, Kim YoungKwang, Lee SooHyuk, Cho BoAh, and Kim JiHun, the drama earned ratings of 10.6%. This drama captured the attention of drama fans for not only having an entertaining main storyline but managing the difficult task of getting fans invested in the side storylines, too. Other than that, the light-hearted nature of the story made for a wholesome viewing experience.
