Although • Regardless of the fact that; even though. • Usage Note: As conjunctions, although and though are generally interchangeable: Although (or though) she smiled, she was angry.Although is usually placed at the beginning of its clause (as in the preceding example), whereas though may occur elsewhere and is the more common term when used to link words or phrases, as in wiser though poorer. In certain constructions, only thoughis acceptable.

IN FACT/ACTUALLY • In reality • Both actually and in fact can be used to modify or contradict a previous statement: I hear that you're a doctor. ~ Well, actually, I'm a dentist.Well, it may sound very straightforward to you, but in fact it's all very complicated. • Actually and in fact can also be used to introduce more detailed information or to make things clearer or more precise: I got so bored listening to what he was saying that I actually fell asleep / in fact I fell asleep half way through his presentation.

8. SINCE • After some point in the past; at a subsequent time: Since my friend got married, he has lived in California. • seeingthat/because: Since you're not interested, I won't tell you about it.

9. ACCORDING TO • As stated or indicated by; on the authority of: according to historians. • In keeping with: according to instructions. • As determined by: a list arranged according to the alphabet.
