We're quite lucky with the Great British high street when it comes to creating affordable, yet expensive-looking pieces, aren't we? Often, though, it can be quite a sifting process to find these gems, with countless hours (even days?) spent searching through the new-in pages to find those winning pieces that will become classic wardrobe staples.
This is why we have such a soft spot for Arket. Part of the H&M Group (along with some of our other favourites like COS and & Other Stories), we can always rely on this brand to deliver on premium pieces that'll work for any plan. And we're not the only ones. Everyone from influencers to editors have been impressed with the puffer coats, hopsack blazer and striped jumpers season and season. So much so that they've become fully fledged cult items.

Dressing to look more luxe doesn't have to mean heels, fancy dresses and expensive jewellery, oh no, we're firm believers in the fact that you can still dress casual for say, a winter walk or an errand day, and still look like you've made an effort. What's the key? It's all about the individual items that you wear. Be it a perfectly tailored pair of trousers dressed down with trainers, a good-quality knit with denim or a knit dress with a classic coat. And luckily, at Arket, you can guarantee that whatever you buy will have that certain je ne sais quoi when it comes to cuts, detail and materials used. They'll always stand out on the high street and they definitely hold their own against even some of the big designer heavyweights.
So no matter your upcoming plans, or budget, copy these five Arket outfits and you can't go wrong.
1. Cable Knit + Mini Skirt + Knee-High Boots
Style Notes: Expensive-looking outfits needn't be neutral. A classic cable knit jumper in a fun pop of colour mixed polished accessories makes for a foolproof, elevated winter look. Add tights if you're feeling the chill!
Style Notes: Tailoring is always a winner in my eyes. Opt for a timeless camel pair of trousers as your base before adding a pink knit and burgundy handbag. What really takes this look up a notch is the materials; the smooth leather of the tote and cosy alpaca of the sweater make these pieces look so much more expensive than they are.
Style Notes: Now this is an outfit that will always deliver when it comes to looking rich on a budget. Choose a neutral or metallic and add an oversized blazer with a peek of a lace bra poking through. Mules and simple hoops add an elegant touch.
Style Notes: This outfit combines some of Arket's biggest premium-looking hits. The result? A cosy yet chic winter look made from pieces that will work hard for you all season long.
Style Notes: A knitted midi dress is one of the easiest ways to look put together. This bright blue style is so expensive-looking and works for the daytime as it will for an evening out. Layer over a wool coat (another premium staple) and add black accessories.
